The Romance of The Arsenal




Arsenal won their first major trophy when they lifted the FA Cup in 1930. They followed this up by winning the League Championship in  produced in the 1930-31 season.
This book, celebrating these achievements, was published in 1931.
Herbert Chapman did not make the famous changes to Arsenal's kit until 1933, at this point they were still wearing the redcurrant jerseys and the plain socks.
The player holding the Cup is Tom Parker. The right -back made 294 appearances for Arsenal between 1926 and 1933, including an unequaled club record of 172 consecutive first-team matches.
